What actually is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a focused state of attention and absorption, where the mind and body can respond to helpful suggestions in a way that supports change. It can help shift patterns of thought, behaviour, and response at a deeper level.

Everyone experiences hypnosis differently. Some people feel deeply relaxed, while others feel fully aware throughout the process. In a clinical setting with a trained professional, hypnosis can be a useful way to support meaningful and lasting change.

What can be supported using hypnosis?

Hypnosis can help with anything that involves the mind. If you’ve tried other approaches and your problem hasn’t shifted, there’s a good chance that underlying emotions are driving the thoughts and behaviours that keep you stuck.

Common areas where hypnosis can support change include anxiety, sleep, grief, confidence, phobias, chronic pain, performance, and smoking. These all share a common root: emotion. When we work with the emotion and help the body and mind work together again, change can happen without having to focus directly on the original cause.

Follow up sessions are 90 minutes long and are NZ$160 each.

Maximillian Mayell

Maximillian offers personalised hypnotherapy sessions that help you make changes where the problems actually come from - the unconscious mind.

Blending his unique approach with a trauma-informed framework, and key holistic health principles. He assures that you are in good hands as he works with you to uncover the root cause of what is bringing you stress and dis-ease.

Behaviours and thoughts very rarely come from the conscious mind. So I found the best results happened when I worked on where the problem actually comes from - The Unconscious.

Hypnosis works with the subconscious mind

This is the place where beliefs, emotions and thoughts spend most of their time and have the most impact on our day-to-day functioning.

What happens in a session?

Each session has 3 segments to it.

We start with an intake about where you are at the moment, and getting an understanding about your goals. If you're visiting for the first time it's a bit longer, or returning for a follow up session we don't need as much time.

In the second segment, we answer any questions you have about hypnosis and the process before proceeding to the induction and hypnosis.

You stay aware, relaxed, and in control throughout, and the focus is always on helping you move forward with more ease and confidence.

We finish with some takeaways for use at home and close out the session.

Every session is tailored to you, so we can work on what matters most in a way that feels practical, supportive, and achievable.
