WORKPLACE WELLBEING
For Hospitality Teams

Stay focused, calm and effective when service gets intense.

Excellence in hospitality demands more than just technical skill

During a busy service, pressure affects communication, decision-making, teamwork, consistency and much more. After a mistake, stress can narrow attention and make the next response more reactive.

This workshop teaches a simple shared language for participants to recognise stress and learn easy tools and techniques to apply before pressure escalates beyond recovery.

Current hospitality-trainings miss these key areas of performance

Communication

You know what you need, but not how ask for it under pressure. Manage the pressure, and communication immediately becomes more effective. When communication fails, everything starts to become more difficult.

Decision-Making

While under stress, our functional IQ can as much as half. Our higher processing centres in the brain that involve learning, critical thinking, and task management are the first things to turn off when stress ramps up. Manage the stress, and immediately better decisions start being made.

When people become stressed, teamwork is often the first thing that suffers. By learning to regulate stress and manage the pressure, individuals are able to better rely on each other when it really counts

Teamwork

Recovery After Work

Stress from work directly impacts home life. What most restaurants miss is that this door goes both ways. Tools for managing stress at home often positively impact work as well.

What The Workshop Covers

Having the opportunity to learn and grow together is what builds strong teamwork. That is why a workshop format is best suited for this kind of learning.

Drawing from the latest information and research on stress and nervous system development, the 90 minutes of engaging content allows for enough time to understand what brings about one's own stress, as well as how to reliably manage it in a fast paced environment.

Workshop Outcomes:

1. Understand stress

  • How stress appears at work.

  • Recognise stress in yourself and others.

Who you are learning from

My name's Maximillian, I've worked as a chef for a decade in busy restaurants in NZ and overseas, and in demanding kitchens of large events. For the last 5 years I have trained in holistic health sciences and now work as a clinical hypnotherapist helping people bring regulation, stress management and directed goals into to their lives.

In my experience, hospitality expects you to perform at a high level, consistently, for long periods of time, while providing no explicit training in how to do so. The skill and technique to make incredible food is there, but the mindset behind performing well under pressure is nowhere to be found.

When not cooking, or working with clients I’m usually found out in nature taking photos, bodysurfing, or hiking and camping.

Thank you, we'll be in touch soon.

This workshop is designed to regulate stress before it becomes overwhelming.

Hospitality is fast-paced and high-pressure, yet staff are rarely given explicit training in performing under pressure. This workshop closes that gap —teaching simple, body-based regulation tools that work in seconds, during and after service.

I hope you get a lot out of the workshop and that you take these tools out into the world with you.

Below is a form for leaving feedback and sharing any ideas on what to improve or what you enjoyed.
